(4) Dear Sir
(5) My son, James S. Conrad came
(6) here without my knowledge
(7) and very much to my surprise,
(8) telling me he left school
(9) with 8. others to respond
(10) to the presidents call
(11) to repel the last Raid.
(12) and expected to find me
(13) in Philada. My Family are
(14) all here and I have been
(15) detained with them by my
(16) wifes sickness. all this month.
(17) which is the reason of your
(18) not hearing from me. James
(19) feels a delicacy in returning
(20) without hearing from
